1.RAF Tiles 1

Tile projects require a lot of preliminary layout and design work.  The tiles are rolled out and cut to size.  Certain areas are raised, whilst others are incised to form a contrast.

The tiles are then lightly covered and left to dry out slowly for several weeks.  Then the individual pieces are placed in an electric kiln to be fired to one thousand degrees.

The tiles are then painted in oxides and stoneware glazes and fired to twelve hundred and sixty degrees.  The finished pieces are then glued and grouted into a metal display frame.
