Maggie and Tracy at Zoo Ceramics jointly run adult pottery classes and workshops at their studio in Waddington, just outside Lincoln. The courses specialise in hand-building techniques including coil, slab, modelling and sculpting. The structure of each session will enable each student to explore the medium of clay at their own pace and create personal themes, or follow set projects. Please note that we do not offer throwing courses.
CLASSES - The adult pottery classes are on Wednesday afternoons and evenings and are very popular, so they are often fully subscribed. To join you need to put yourself on the waiting list by following the instructions below.
WORKSHOPS - The workshops are in two parts, consisting of the making and then a glaze session three weeks later. This year's program includes Summer and Autumn weekend workshops offering porcelain jewellery, green man and small, medium and large animal sculpture. The workshops are suitable for older children. To apply please contact us to request an application form.
CREATE YOUR OWN - If you are unable to attend the above, there is an option to create your own workshop. Price guide at the bottom of the page.

Adult Pottery Classes 2023
The pottery classes run for three terms during the year in Spring, Summer and Autumn and last 8 weeks with raku session at the end of the summer term and a winter feast at the end of the Autumn term. There is a free extra catch up session on a Saturday morning at the end of each term for any student that has missed a class. The classes are on Wednesday afternoons from 1.00 to 3.00 pm and evenings from 7.00 to 9.00 pm and there are 15 students per class. Classes cost £90.00 for an eight week term and a charge for finished work (approximately £5- £25 for three pieces.) Students are able to secure their place for the following term half way through the term they are on. As a result most places are taken up, so the only way to join is to put yourself on the waiting lists.
To join the group classes please follow the instructions below. This page also contains information on the workshops and links at the bottom of the page to a Frequently Asked Question section and other events.
