| ARTIST'S STATEMENT Creating a slab paneled tail for this large design is always a challenge, and then I press lino block patterns into disks of flat clay to decorate the piece. As many of my birds have a muted colour scheme, it is refreshing to work with bright blues and turquoise glazes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| DESCRIPTION Original sculpture of a golden eagle that has been hand coiled and carved in a grogged stoneware clay. Intricately sculpted features make up this large bird and the body has been textured and hand painted in a range of high fired glazes. | ARTIST'S STATEMENT The large golden eagle was a challenge to create as the feathers and colouring all blend smoothly into one another. The head and body stance are quite iconic and I wanted to capture some of that aloof grandeur in this piece. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
